Custom Surface Ablation
Custom Surface Ablation treats refractive errors by removing tissue only from the surface of the cornea. There is no “flap” produced by a blade or laser.
In less than a minute or two, a surgeon removes the proper amount of tissue and reshapes the surface of the cornea. By altering the shape or placement of the laser beam, the cornea is made flatter to treat nearsightedness, steeper to treat farsightedness and/or more spherical to treat astigmatism.
Custom Surface Ablation may to treat nearsightedness, farsightedness and astigmatism.
